Katerina Newell

A seasoned litigator, formerly a Partner with the D.C. office of a major international law firm, Kerry Edwards focuses on the big picture to strategically obtain the desired result for her clients. With her “can do” attitude and vast legal knowledge gained from 20+ years litigating at both the trial and appellate levels, Kerry works side-by-side with the client to efficiently develop a thorough understanding of the key facts that will drive the litigation and enable her to provide the best legal and practical advice to navigate the issues presented. Her substantive law and legal process experience is extensive: complex trial and appellate litigation in federal and state courts (multi-district and class actions), as well as administrative proceedings, in the areas of antitrust, mergers and acquisitions, trade regulation, internal corporate investigations, “white collar” criminal law, contract and tortious interference with contract disputes, employment and EEO disputes, retaliation claims, and family law matters. As a zealous advocate for her client’s causes, large or small, Kerry gives her full attention and dedication. Viewed by her clients as an “army of one” when she established her own legal practice before joining us, we are immeasurably strengthened by having Kerry on The Pels Law Firm team.

Kerry earned her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, and her Bachelors in Political Science from State University of New York at Oneonta. Kerry is admitted to the Bars of Maryland (1986) and the District of Columbia (1988). She proudly hails from Bay Shore, Long Island, formerly worked on Capitol Hill for a U.S. Senator before attending law school, and engaged in property development in New Zealand during the years her daughter was a toddler. When “off-duty” Kerry can be found communing with nature on the C & O canal towpath, in between meeting the challenges of raising a busy teen.
