Today, the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), represented by the Pels Law Firm, was again successful in defeating a motion to dismiss or transfer venue by a rogue break off faction of the Maryland PTA. The Pels Law Firm filed suit against this defendant, as well as other individuals, and was successful in obtaining a consent order precluding certain material actions by the defendants, which negatively impacted the national PTA and was outside the scope of any legal authority these defendants had.
Lead trial counsel for the National PTA in this action, Jon Pels, stated: “Today was the second major victory in as many tries on behalf of our client, the national Parent Teachers Association. This lawsuit will proceed in Montgomery County, Maryland, where it belongs. I would like to thank Kerry Edwards, Christina Buschman and Katerina Newell for their excellent work on the briefs.”
